In August 2025, Burns Construction completed the transformation of the former Wiseman Dairy Milk and Dairy Product Distribution Centre in Altens, Aberdeen, into a new Skills Hub for NESCol, in partnership with client ETZ Ltd.

The project involved a full internal and external refurbishment, creating classroom spaces, areas for visiting school groups, teaching facilities, catering and display areas, and the installation of all training plant and equipment.

The existing wall cladding was fully over-clad with Euroclad wall cladding on newly installed cladding rails, new rooflights installed and new Metal Technology curtain walling installed throughout. The previously exposed canopy was enclosed, and general repairs to the surrounding grounds were carried out.

Internally, new glazed partitions were installed, new plasterboard partitions were erected, new internal doors and sliding folding walls installed, new suspended ceilings, redecoration and new floor coverings laid.

Delivered on a tight schedule to align with the start of the new college year, the project provides the local community and students with a fully refurbished, state-of-the-art learning environment.
