Refurbishment & extension of science block
We were awarded the construction and refurbishment of the new and existing science block at St Margaret’s School in 2015. This was a huge task as all construction works had to be done within the constraints of the school holidays.
The work involved was the demolition of a block-built single storey office and corridor. The construction of a new two storey timber kit metal-clad building over and to the side of two existing classrooms. This also involved works to the existing adjoining assembly and gym halls, classrooms, toilets, and corridors.

At the start, we all knew we were up against it but with the construction and design teams fully focused on the task in hand, we were able to achieve practical completion three days early. The work was completed to a very high standard and the school staff and pupils were delighted with their new state-of-the-art science facility. At the time this was one of the most accelerated high-profile jobs undertaken to date and in turn, demonstrated our capability to all concerned.
